Reeve Carney, Adam Driver & More Tapped for Upcoming Lady Gaga-Led Gucci Film

A slew of stage and screen stars have been announced to star in MGM's Gucci, the upcoming Ridley Scott-directed film that highlights Patrizia Reggiani, the ex-wife of fashion mogul Maurizio Gucci, who was convicted of orchestrating his assassination in 1995. According to Deadline, Hadestown star Reeve Carney, Tony nominee Adam Driver, two-time Tony winner Al Pacino, Robert de Niro and Jack Huston are all in talks to join the movie. Lady Gaga was previously confirmed to headline the film as as Reggiani.

Gucci follows the story of Reggiani and how she served 18 years in jail before being let out in 2016 for orchestrating the assasination of ex-husband Maurizio Gucci, who left her for another woman. Reggiani originally received a sentence of 29 years.

Carney is known for playing Orpheus in the Tony-winning musical Hadestown. He made his Broadway debut as the title character in Spider-Man: Turn Off the Dark. His screen credits include Penny Dreadful, The Rocky Horror Picture Show: Let's Do the Time Warp Again, Gemini and more.

Get your black turtleneck ready! Netflix has announced that its new film adaptation of Mart Crowley's groundbreaking comic drama The Boys in the Band—with the complete cast of the Tony-winning Broadway production repeating their work on-screen—will arrive on September 30. As previously reported, Ryan Murphy and David Stone have repeated their work as producers from the Broadway staging, along with Ned Martel. Joe Mantello, who directed the Broadway mounting, also helmed the film.

The star-packed cast includes Emmy nominee Matt Bomer as Donald, Emmy nominee Zachary Quinto as Harold, Emmy winner Jim Parsons as Michael, two-time Tony nominee Andrew Rannells as Larry, three-time Tony nominee Robin De Jesús as Emory, Brian Hutchison as Alan, Michael Benjamin Washington as Bernard, Tuc Watkins as Hank and Charlie Carver as Cowboy.

Jake Gyllenhaal to Star in A Suspense Novelist's Trail of Deceptions Series Based on Viral The New Yorker Interview

Oscar nominee Jake Gyllenhaal has been tapped to star in A Suspense Novelist's Trail of Deceptions, a new series based on the viral 2019 New Yorker article on Dan Mallory, author of suspense novel The Woman in the Window. According to Entertainment Weekly, the show will be written and directed by Janicza Bravo.

Gyllenhaal, who was most recently seen on stage in Sea Wall/A Life, starred in the Broadway productions of Sunday in the Park with George and Constellations. His production company Nine Stories also was a producer for Slave Play and the upcoming Caroline, Or Change revival. Gyllenhaal is set to reprise his leading turn in Sunday in the Park with George in London in 2021 and has secured the rights to produce and star in a film adaptation of the Tony-winning musical Fun Home. In 2005, Gyllenhaal earned an Oscar nomination for Brokeback Mountain.
