Kimber Elayne Sprawl has previously discussed why Girl From the North Country, the last Broadway show to open before the COVID-19 pandemic shut down theaters, is more relevant than ever. "I think our show is going to hit so hard when we return. It really puts things in a new perspective," she said on #LiveatFive: Home Edition. "It literally is about the Great Depression." In a new music video, the performer shows the relevance of the musical's Bob Dylan score in a powerful way. The Old Vic's Three Kings, Starring Andrew Scott, Announces New Dates

Source: Broadway.com | Posted: August 19 2020 @ 10:38 am

There are officially new dates for the Old Vic's production of Stephen Beresford's new play Three Kings. Olivier winner and Fleabag favorite Andrew Scott, who is set to star in the production, had been recovering from a minor surgery. Originally set to begin on July 29 and then on August 7, performances will now run from September 3 through September 5.

Directed by Matthew Warchus, The Three Kings stars Scott as Patrick. When he is eight-years-old, his absent father returns unexpectedly and in a brief but memorable encounter, sets him to the challenge of "The Three Kings." Years later—recalling that meeting, and the revelations that followed—Patrick traces the events of his father’s life—and takes the audience on a journey of grandiose plans, aching disappointments and audacious self delusion.

This is the latest installment of the new artistic initiative called Old Vic: In Camera. The Crown's Claire Foy and Matt Smith starred in a socially distant production of Lungs earlier this summer. For tickets and more information, head here.

As previously announced, Oscar winner and Broadway alum Julianne Moore plays Steinem in the film, which is based on her bestselling memoir My Life on the Road. Oscar winner Alicia Vikander plays Steinem as a journalist in the 1960s, while Moore portrays her as a key figure in the women’s liberation movement during the 1970s and beyond. As previously reported, Tony winner Bette Midler takes on the role of New York-based attorney Bella Abzug, who took part in the antiwar group Women Strike for Peace and later went on to serve as a U.S. representative.

The Glorias cast also includes Janelle Monáe as Dorothy Pitman Hughes, Timothy Hutton as Leo Steinem and Lorraine Toussaint as Florynce Kennedy. The film debuted at the Sundance Film …
