Billy Porter, Alex Lacamoire & More Set for This Week's Stars in the House

Tony winner Billy Porter, who is currently starring on Pose, honors creator Ryan Murphy.

Another lineup of theater peeps is set for this week's episodes of Stars in the House, a daily online series from SiriusXM On Broadway personality Seth Rudetsky and his husband, producer James Wesley. The series goes live daily at 8PM ET on The Actors Fund's YouTube channel. A schedule of this week's appearances can be found below.

Monday, August 17
8PM ET: Guest Host Andréa Burns with Alex Lacamoire.

Tuesday, August 18
8PM ET: Carnegie Mellon reunion with Michael McElroy, Jack Plotnick, Billy Porter, Tami Tappan and Ty Taylor.

Thursday, August 20
8PM ET: Stephen Flaherty and Lynn Ahrens.

Saturday, August 22
2PM ET: Regional Theatre Spotlight On: Music Theatre Wichita - Wichita, KS

Stars in the House features live performances (from home) to promote support of The Actors Fund's services for those most vulnerable to the effects of COVID-19. During each episode, guests sing a mix of their favorite songs paired with an interview.

Amandla Stenberg Tapped for Dear Evan Hansen Movie

Amandla Stenberg has joined the previously announced Dear Evan Hansen film. According to The Hollywood Reporter, she will play the role of Alana Beck, originated by Kristolyn Lloyd on Broadway. The role has been expanded for the film, with Stenberg singing a new original song, which she is writing in collaboration with Benj Pasek and Justin Paul.

Stenberg's screen credits include Where Hands Touch, The Hate U Give, Everything, Everything, As You Are, Mr. Robinson, The Hunger Games and more.

Tony winners Pasek and Paul sold the musical's rights to Universal Pictures with Marc Platt and Adam Siegel producing through Marc Platt Productions. Dear Evan Hansen's Tony-winning book writer Steven Levenson is set to write the script for the movie and executive produce alongside Pasek and Paul. Stephen Chbosky, known for his screenplays for the movie musicals Rent and Beauty and the Beast to life, will direct.

Karen Olivo & Sierra Boggess Join Virtual Summer Concert Series

As previously reported, Seth Rudetsky’s Broadway concert series, which first began in Provincetown at the Art House in 2011, is debuting as a weekly virtual series entitled the Seth Concert Series. Hosted by SiriusXM On Broadway personality and Stars in the House co-host Rudetsky, Karen Olivo and Sierra Boggess have joined the lineup, which has already included Jeremy Jordan, Stephanie J. Block, Audra McDonald, Kelli O'Hara, Jessie Mueller, Lea Salonga, Melissa Errico, Megan Hilty, Norm Lewis and Cheyenne Jackson. Jordan will perform a brand new concert on September 13.

As previously announced, Rachel Bay Jones is set to perform on August 23 at 8PM ET. Boggess will appear on August 30, followed by Olivo on September 6. Each weekly show premieres on Sunday nights at 8PM ET with a second showing Mondays at 3PM ET for viewers in other time zones. Tickets are available here.

Emma Kingston & Waylon Jacobs to Star in The Last Five Years at the Minack Theatre

Another production of The Last Five Years will take place across the pond this fall. Jason Robert Brown's fan favorite musical will run from September 15 through September 19 at the Minack Theatre in Cornwall.

Directed by Omar F. Okai, The Last Five Years will star Emma Kingston as Cathy and Waylon Jacobs as Jamie. Kingston was playing Luisa in Zorro at the Hope Mill Theatre at the time that theaters were shut down as a result of the COVID-19 crisis; her stage credits also include In the Heights, Evita, Les Misérables and more. Jacobs' stage credits include Hamilton, Memphis, We Will Rock You, Ragtime, The Lion King and more.

Hand sanitizer will be provided throughout the venue. Audience activity will be monitored to maintain safe social distancing. Paper tickets will not be used; audience members must show a confirmation email on their mobile device upon entry. For tickets and more information, head here.
